Top B2B startups won $100K in cash after pitching at SaaStr Europa
Irvine, CA – June 14, 2019 – Ingram Micro Inc. today announced the winners of the inaugural SaaStr Startup Pitch Competition, Ingram Micro Cloud’s newest contest dedicated to helping B2B ISVs find commercial success for their technology and purpose-build for the IT channel. The competition put five finalists selected from a broad field of participants in front of an expert panel of SaaS executives and investors for a live, five-minute pitch during SaaStr Europa. The top three winners took home a combined $100K in cash prizes for zero equity. The winners for this year’s inaugural competition are Process Street, named most likely to become a unicorn; Tonic App for best team and pitch; and Userlane for best vision and strategy.
“At Ingram Micro Cloud, we are dedicated to helping the world’s greatest cloud technologies find commercial success,” said Nimesh Davé, EVP Global Cloud at Ingram Micro. “Our startup competitions help our partners identify the most promising business-to-business technologies that they can offer to their business customers. For startups, this means finding new routes to market as they engage directly with the world’s largest channel ecosystem. This is a key pillar of our organizational mission to help everyone realize the promise of technology.”
Global B2B tech startups who are changing the world of cybersecurity, infrastructure, middleware, IoT and SaaS were all invited to apply. Eligible startups had less than $10M in funding and were able to attend the SaaStr Europa event. Live pitches took place on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, on-site at SaaStr Europa in Paris, France.
Applicants were evaluated on a number of criteria, including product capabilities, growth rate, go-to-market position, customers, competitors, total addressable market and partner ecosystem strategy. Five finalists were selected by a group of distinguished industry influencers and went on to pitch live at SaaStr Europa.
"Our SaaStr community events bring together thousands of the top leaders, executives, and founders from around the globe,” said Amelia Ibarra, VP of Marketing at SaaStr. “We're truly excited to have partnered with Ingram Micro to host this inaugural startup pitch competition to uplift founders who are building the next big thing in cloud. Getting to reward the winners with a no-strings-attached check will truly help these founders take their software to the next level.”
This is Ingram Micro’s second global competition dedicated to accelerating B2B startups in the channel ecosystem, the first of which was the Comet Competition. Launched in October 2018, the Comet Competition was the first startup challenge dedicated to commercializing B2B startup technology for the IT channel. The first cycle of competitions took place in Tel Aviv, Austin, Boston and Mexico City, and additional cycles will take place globally over the next year.
Ingram Micro has proven to be the fastest route to market for ISVs looking to build and scale their SaaS or IaaS-based businesses.
